VoxBudi: a gamified emotional companion for pediatric care

What is VoxBudi?

VoxBudi is a gamified mobile application being developed by Pedivox Tech for children aged 7 to 10 undergoing long-term treatment, initially focusing on pediatric leukemia. Through age-appropriate storytelling, interactive activities, digital character companionship and gamified routines, VoxBudi aims to make the care journey easier to understand and provide children with safe ways to express how they feel.

The challenge children face

Long-term treatment asks a great deal of a child. Days are shaped by appointments, procedures and vocabulary built for adults. Children are often talked about rather than talked with, which can leave them with little clarity about what is happening and few ways to say how they feel about it.

How the experience is intended to support children

  • Age-appropriate stories designed to explain the care journey in a child's language.
  • Interactive experiences intended to give children safe ways to express emotions and needs.
  • Gamified care routines being developed to help children feel included in their own care.
  • A digital character companion designed to make difficult days feel less isolating and more predictable.

Designed for children, families and care teams

VoxBudi is designed first for the child, and shaped with the reality of families and clinical teams in mind. The aim is a shared, calmer language around care: clearer for the child, and supportive of the adults around them.

Child-centered and research-led development

Development follows a research-led and clinically disciplined approach. Pedivox Tech works from published pediatric literature and child-development principles, and builds deliberately rather than quickly, guided by its Care, Data and Impact principles.
